On an average wedding is a very expensive affair. Including photography there are many expenses. A wedding or reception is incomplete without good photographers. There are some wedding photography money saving tips that can help you save on the cost of this expense while allowing you to capture great pictures of your wedding day.

While you may not want to forgo a professional photographer completely, limit them to a certain number of pictures to save money. For example, you may want the pro to take some traditional posed shots of the bride, groom and wedding party but not candid pictures of the event. Candid shots can be taken by camera wielding friends and family. The less pictures the professional photographer takes, the less it will cost you. When shopping for your photographer let them know that you are on a budget and stand firm with the amount you are willing to pay.

Wedding photographers usually offer package deals, which can sometimes save you money. Compare the cost of choosing your shots separately with the package deal and see how much you can save. Be honest about how many pictures you really need. If you don't choose enough in an attempt to save money, it may cost you even more later when you're returning to the studio for additional prints. Another tip is to watch out for unnecessary extras. Photography studios will try to upsell and get you to buy fancy extras like framed photos or canvas photos that you don't need.

As mentioned before, one of the best wedding photography money saving tips is to have a friend or family member take all your candid shots. Recruit one or more people who you know are skilled behind the camera. You may want to rent them a really good camera to use for the day if they do not have a sufficient one. When camera shopping, the number of megapixels a digital camera has denotes how good the photos will be. The higher the megapixel level, the higher the photo quality. A good camera with a skilled amateur photographer behind it can help you achieve cheap yet gorgeous photos of your wedding and reception.
